A vestige from the 16th century, the Saint-Jacques Tower was once the bell tower of the Saint-Jacques church. Sold during the Revolution as a stone quarry, the church was destroyed leaving only its bell tower, which went on to have a rich history as the site of numerous scientific experiments...
